I don't see what all the hype is with the new line of Katana amps. I own the Katana 100 MK2, and this new generation just doesn't seem like it's got much more to offer. One extra channel, a few tiny doo dads, and the ability to connect Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth dongle is an OPTIONAL extra! I guess if you were looking to get into a new amp, the newer Katana would be a great choice, but coming from an upgrade perspective, the new amp just doesn't seem worth it. I would only do an upgrade if I were to get the Artist model. This is just my opinion though!

From what I can tell yeah it was a decent upgrade. The MK2 has twice as many tonal options, full control of the amp with the footswtich, power amp in, more advanced tone editor.
Apart from the footswitch, no visible tweakable knobs on the amp ? Most through connectivity ?

I had a MKII. It had a decent dual delay, but the rest of the settings were kind of sterile. I returned it after three days. I still haven't found a Modeling Amp that I like.

I just sold my Blackstar Debut 50 to a friend today. It was light weight, but still kind of big. I think I'm going to hold out for a Swart Atomic Space Tone. Very small and light and can play quietly if loud, really loud.
