Today I needed a P-90 fix

I’m OK with plekking if a company wants to do that. My 2022 SG was done at the factory. One online store offers to do it on orders, for $200. Didn’t think it needed that, additionally. I’ve always learned to do most things myself, on most things, guitars included, so I guess I’m just “iffy”...

Cataract surgery today. Yay! I’ll get back to ya.

Nursing home yesterday with a bass player, vocalist, and the Telecaster. Old pop standards & Showtunes for a couple hours. Took today off from playing. Nothing racked up in the stand for tomorrow yet. We shall see.

Back to the grail chalice

I used Gibson “Mona-steel” strings in the sixties on my J-45. When I ran a DeArmond “hole chewer” magnetic pickup in the sound hole it kicked serious butt with those strings. The Martin version nowadays are pale by comparison, acoustic or electric, in my experience.

Nice synopsis! Had a few, over the years, but nothing vintage. I think my favorite was an early ‘62 RI iteration. A friend had a genuine ‘67 triburst. Boy, even I could play Third Stone From the Sun on that thing! Amazingly great guitar. I’d like to maybe get a current production ‘54, or EJ...

I have enough acoustic guitars: one! My hands prefer 0.010” - 0.046” strings.

My long gone hollow bodies: Since retirement from my day job, I now use cheaper stuff, but still sound like my fingers are webbed.
