I ended shipping the guitar to PRS and they sent it to their tech center. Ten days ago, they replied this:

Well ... SGs and LPs don't feel/play the same for me, that is enough to warrant one of each. You can have them to sound pretty close though. If you're thinking about a 24 fret guitar, then I suppose the limited LP upper register is not your thing.
Even on Epiphone, the large batwing pickguard is usually paired with a thicker neck. Both the Gibson SG Special Faded and the Tribute I had sported nice chunky C necks.
