    The Koch Ness Monster!

I just listened to the whole demo. Great stuff. Not only can Koch play, pretty sure he can sell sand to Arabs.

    The Koch Ness Monster!

Sure does look cool. Koch is one of the best. I have his book on slide technique. If I didn't have all these other effects… that I don’t use to their fullest. I’d prolly get one.

What is the point to a top shelf Epiphone?

Just had another thought… (thinking, dangerous- I know…) The point of an high end Epi? 2000$ less than a high end Gibby! And just as good.

Bubbles in the finish. Any suggestions?

Well, I’ve been there with other projects. I’ll knock it back with a light sanding and go a little more careful tomorrow. It’s gonna be a pretty one. I only covered the rear of the headstock to fully cover the holes from the previous tuners. They left it ugly. A

Bubbles in the finish. Any suggestions?

Got it. Solvent pop. When I screw up it’s usually worse than this. I’m glad this is minor.

Your 'Weapons of Choice' for today....[pics preferred]

I broke in the new strings on the Country Gentleman 12. It’s back to its ol’ sweet self. I know you all just saw it yesterday, but…

Bubbles in the finish. Any suggestions?

Just when I thought this was done, these few bubbles popped up within a minute of completing the spray. A rattle can lacquer. Any suggestions on preventing this tomorrow?

    Gibson fake or not

Looks like your knobs are correct as well for a 79.

    Gibson fake or not

@john john I found some better info. Looks more certain this is a ‘79. Serial number indicates this was stamped on the 98th day in 1979. Still 1979. On the pot, 71-079. This number is Gibson’s ‘in house’ part number. 13778? Is incomplete. Because we can’t see what’s under that...

What did you do to your guitar today?

Pulled down the 12 the other day. Strings had turned to crap. And the whole thing was dusty as could be. Dry fretboard. Before After. I put together a hybrid set of strings, 8s. All flatwounds. Fretboard. Before on the right. After on the left.

    Gibson fake or not

@john john I think your safe that this is Not fake. It definitely has some years on it. That’s a beautiful patina on the binding. Some irregularities I see. -The pickups may have been swapped. Or at least the pickup covers removed. This is something some of us do from time to time...

    Gibson fake or not

I can’t read the numbers on the pots. If you want to post them or write them down your self you can double check the dates on these.

    Gibson fake or not

I doubt that it is fake. It does look to have had many changes. I start with the serial number. If I figured it right, it would have been stamped July 17, 1979. Does this seem accurate?
