SG necks

Is there a huge difference between the neck on a SG '61 vs. an SG Standard? I hear the standard has a chunkier neck as compared to the slim taper '61. Yes I can just go to my local guitar shop, but I don't go there much as it's out of the way and I only go there when it's necessary.

Even on Epiphone, the large batwing pickguard is usually paired with a thicker neck. Both the Gibson SG Special Faded and the Tribute I had sported nice chunky C necks.

Yep. SG Standard has a thicker neck. More rounded as well.

It was an’04. Funny enough, it had the same neck profile as the Riviera P93 I purchased about the same time…gave that one to the same guy along with the SG.

I happened to go to my local store yesterday and they had one of those new Epiphone SG Moderns, the neck on that was exceptionally nice. super comfortable, rounded but not excessively chunky. The neck on my '61 pro is almost super thin compared to the modern.
